Audio Adapters Overview
Technicians need to also familiarize themselves with common audio Adapters. One of the most popular brands is Switchcraft. Switchcraft has been around for many years and have hundreds of different audio Adapters to choose from. AVCSS Tech World has many “How To” videos on how to Solder / Terminate audio connectors so be sure to look those up when you’re ready. Here are some of the most common Switchcraft audio Adapters used by technicians.
“Y-Cables”
There are many versions of Y-Cables on the market, but the RCA types have probably been used the most. There is a “Proper” way to use a Y-Cable, and an “Improper” way to use a Y-Cable.
There are hundreds of audio adapters on the market. As technicians gain experience with audio systems, they will discover which ones will be useful and which are not. These audio adapters should not be used for “permanent” installations, as they are best utilized for “emergency” situations. Stock up – You never know when you’ll need one!
